X&Y Route 7

Route 7

Route 7 is a rather long route, but unfortunately you won't be able to explore all of it right away. It also branches off to Route 6, which is another place you can't yet explore (but will soon).
Head over to the west until you find a fork in the road. To the south is an optional area you can visit, but for now, make your way all the way west until you see the people from earlier — as well as a giant Snorlax passed out smack dab in the middle of the bridge to the rest of Route 7.
They'll explain that the Poké Flute is needed to wake up Snorlax, and that the Poké Flute is held at Parfum Palace to the north. Before leaving, though, head directly north of the bridge to find a Heal Ball.
At this point, you can head back to the junction to Route 6 and head that way, or you can check out the Berry Fields at the previously mentioned fork in the road.

Berry Fields

As you enter the Berry Fields, you'll be approached by a man and his daughter and they'll ask you a favor. They want you to take care of the Berry Fields. Agree to do so and they'll show you how to plant berries here, giving you 5 Oran Berries and 5 Pecha Berries to get started. They'll also give you the Sprinklotad Key Item, which can be used to water the berries.
Planting berries is rather similar to previous games, except all of the soil you'll need to plant them in can be found here. You'll also need to water the berries you plant using the Sprinklotad (press A after planting the berries; you can plant several berries and then move across the row while using the Sprinklotad to save time). Not only that, but you will need to check back every now and then to remove weeds and potentially fight off hungry Bug-type Pokémon. You can also turn excess berries into mulch by using the composter (you'll need to talk to the girl inside of the house first), which apparently improves their yield.
It's up to you whether you want to get into growing berries now or not, but regardless of your decision, you should stop by the southwestern part of the fields to pick up the Miracle Seed, which boosts the power of your Pokémon's Grass-type moves when held.
